Bugatti was founded in 1909 in Molsheim, France by Ettore Bugatta. At the time, Molsheim was part of the German Empire. The Volkswagen Group purchased Bugatti in 1998 and is responsible for the resurgence of the brand. Bugatti’s are still produced in Molsheim.
Bugatti has been manufacturing high-performance cars from the very beginning. Steeped in racing history, many of the early Grand Prix races were won by Bugatti cars, privately owned by race car drivers called “Privateers”.
Today, Bugatti sells two vehicles and the occasional “one off”. The Veyron, Bugatti’s signature car, was first produced in 2005 and helped establish Bugatti and the word’s most exclusive supercar brand. The Veyron set a speed record of 431.072 km/h or 267.85mph. It goes from 0 – 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.5 seconds. It comes in four models: Veyron 16.4, Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport, Veyron 16.4 Super Sport, and Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitess.
The Chiron is “the fastest, most powerful and exclusive production super sports car in Bugatti’s history.” The Chiron is available in three models: Chiron, Chiron Sport, and Chiron Sport 110 ANS. The 110 ANS is a limited edition to celebrate Bugatti’s centennial and painted as a tribute to its French heritage.
Divo is a “one off” car that is a limited-edition production limited to only 40 units. The Divo, designed as an homage to the company's 110th anniversary. It represents the history and performance of Bugatti as the ultimate in high performance cars.
Chiron, Veyron, Divo are the last names of some of the ‘privateers’ who drove Bugatti’s into racing legend and established the Bugatti name.
