Tesla, founded in 2003, is headquartered in Palo Alto, California. Its main factory is in Fremont, California and has an assembly plant outside of Reno, Nevada. It is currently ranked as the world’s best-selling plug-in passenger car manufacturer.
It is the only auto maker that sells directly to the customer, all others use independently owned dealerships. Tesla’s are only purchased from the Tesla website.
Tesla’s can be purchased by checking their list of existing inventories, or by purchasing a custom vehicle. Currently, Tesla offers four models to choose from. Tesla sells the Model S, Model 3, Model X and Model Y.
The Model S, a four-door sedan with Dual Motor All-wheel drive, can go from 0-60 in 2.4 seconds and has a 370-mile range.
The Model 3, also an AWD four-door sedan, is smaller than the Model S and costs less. It is also designed more like a hatchback and has a 310-mile range.
Tesla’s Model X is a mid-size crossover model. It has a 5-Star safety rating, seats seven and has a 325-mile range. Tesla Model X is equipped with standard Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive and goes from 0-60 in 2.7 seconds.
The Model Y is Tesla’s compact crossover model. It seats seven and has a 300-mile range and like most Tesla’s is standard with Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive.
Tesla also offers a 7-day or 1000-mile guarantee, where you can return your car for a full refund.
Tesla’s are frequently shipped across the country in either open or enclosed car shipping trailers. Cost can vary depending on shipping service as well as the size of the vehicle. Smaller cars, such as the Model 3 cost less for car shipping as it is easier to find a spot for them on a trailer. Your car shipping company will be able to give you more detailed information and an estimated shipping price.
